Finishing: Individual and Team Aspects

Six-time NCAA Tournament qualifier Brandon Koons provides a broad spectrum of exercises and games that will put your players in position to be successful when they have an opportunity to score.

Technique
Coach Koons explains and demonstrates the necessary fundamentals to improve ball striking technique. Your players will see improvement in the power and accuracy of their shot as they improve their preparation (stance and footwork in relation to the ball) and their striking technique.

Individual Exercises
These exercises, which can be done with a small or large number of players, provide shots on goal and high reps. The exercises begin with simple juggling exercises and progress into more complex shots.

Team Exercises
Coach Koons takes the individual exercises and advances them into fast-paced small-sided games (1v1, 2v2, 3v3, from crosses). These games will help your players get comfortable shooting from a distance and finishing from all angles in game-like situations. Players often panic and stop thinking when they get near the goal and consequently make bad decisions. When players are shown how to make good decisions in the attacking area, it will help them score more goals. You'll learn how to adjust the exercises to increase or decrease the level of pressure on players to finish.

In addition, you'll learn how to get more repetitions in each practice by simply adding a finishing component to your warm up.

This DVD provides an essential progression from individual technique to team concepts and adds in the high reps that will help your team make the most of its scoring opportunities on game day.
