Installing the Sliding Defensive System

This is an excellent DVD that bears repeated watching. I was caught off guard at first as Seaman starts out by explaining exceptions to the slide rules, but it makes sense after watching and digesting the entire video. (Just don't try to teach it to JV or middle school players that way!) The crease slide shown here is explained very well in a way that makes complete sense. It really helped me understand the crease slide package and realize how to implement it to suit my team's strengths and cover the weaknesses (we were previously sliding adjacent). Seaman explains and demonstrates how his crease slide package works against the most popular formations (2-3-1, 1-4-1, 2-2-2) through dry erase board, walk through, and game speed demonstrations. This DVD is critical for anyone installing slide packages for the first time and provides a great foundation for expanding your slide packages.

This is a great DVD and has fairly comprehensive and easy to follow information if you are looking to install a slide package. The crease slide package is highlighted, but exceptions to the slide are offered as well. The drills are clearly explained in a "chalk-talk" and you get an on-field look at them as well. The duties of each man are explained explicitly. I plan to install this system in my U15A team this spring. They have never had a slide package before at this level, but I feel this 3-slide system will work well with the level of our players.

This an excellent dvd. Coach Seaman clearly explains his philosphy and operation of this defense. It is similar to others but his explanation allowed me to implement the defense effectively.
