The guru, Mr. Alan Stein, presents an easy to follow DVD on ACL injury prevention that is helpful, especially when we are coaching young ladies. As a coach in middle school and high school, coaching girls basketball, our sport; like tennis, soccer, and lacrosse, demands a lot. Players are making quick change of direction moves, pivoting, and jumping. All of that movement takes a toll on a players knees, ankles, and legs. Coach Stein gives coaches some tips that can help to reduce that wear and tear on athletes.
Coach Stein focuses on safety, the technique/form, footwork, low athletic stance, slow movement strength training, quality repetitions, time efficiency, and productivity. One, out of many, tips that Coach Stein brings up a lot in the DVD is quality landing. When athletes land, their weight needs to be equally distributed; soft landing. As coaches, we hear it all the time. The big test is actually doing it! Coach Stein promotes and stresses "Soft Landing!" I love this DVD and use some of these exercises to help reduce ACL with my players. This is a must have for any coach and is especially helpful for us coaches that work with young ladies. 5-Star
