with Eric Reis,Manteca (CA) High School Head Coach,2006 Coach of the Year;and Dan Eavenson, Manteca (CA) High School Assistant Coach
Coach Reis uses a process vs. product philosophy when developing his offensive line. He believes it is important to focus on the process of what it takes to build a game-winning program, rather than focus only on the product itself. For Reis, it is vital to "win in the trenches." In order to achieve this, you must know your group, know the mental toughness of your athletes, be well aware of your technique and steps and develop your playbook with the line in mind. Reis and Eavenson discuss the grading system that Manteca High School implements, and Coach Eavenson includes examples of how athletes are graded within this system by way of game footage. Along with game footage, this lecture-style session is guided by a thorough and well-organized visual presentation that allows one to gain an understanding of just what it takes to build a successful offensive line.
