With step-by-step instructions, Coach Klenakis teaches a simple and effective way to install the zone running game out of the Pistol Offense. In 2009, Nevada led the nation in rushing offense (344.9 yds/game) and in yards per carry (7.4 yds/carry). The main reason for Nevada's success in running the football is their zone family of plays. Coach Klenakis details the basics of the zone family. He covers the zone trap, zone read, 2-man and 3-man game. Klenakis dissects practice footage to teach proper alignment and steps for the offensive linemen. He highlights a variety of drills to make your job simple when teaching this system to your players. He includes quarterback and running backs drills for the hand-off and fakes along with how to read the zone play. Klenakis breaks down game footage to show the finished product in a team setting. This DVD is a perfect compliment to the Pistol Offense: Power Running Game.

This DVD provides an excellent initial source of information for installing the Inside Zone. The concept of the cylinder is one used successfully at the University of Minnesota years ago with OL Coach Gordon Shaw. While there are not as many zone blocking coaches who still utilize the cylinder concept in their teaching methods these days, it is still a valuable approach to teaching the inside zone. Coach Klenakis provides a great deal of information on the inside zone as this is probably the longest DVD on the Inside Zone on the market today. I should stress that each and every minute is worthwhile watching.
