Coach Robb Akey provides excellent insight into defensive line play in their attacking, multiple front 4-3 defense. Areas covered in this tape include a detailed discussion on the multiple fronts they use to defend various offensive sets and also to take exploit match-up advantages. Included in this are the assignments and responsibilities for each line position. In the individual development part of the tape, Coach Akey teaches the critical fundamentals and techniques needed to develop dominant defensive lineman. The fundamentals are broken down involving the eyes, hands, hips and feet as they pertain to five critical areas- stance, attack progression or run support; pass progression, shedding blocks and tackling. The drills they use to teach these fundamentals are demonstrated.

I agree with some of the comments of the first reviewer. However, after watching the video through for a second time, and then taking notes on it the third time, I found that Coach Akey provided a wealth of information. I actually ended up with 14 pages of notes that I am going to base my defensive line practices on.
Too much time spent at the white board and rapid fire lecture in front of the camera, and not enough footage of player instruction and actual drills. I would rather see players executing what Coach Akey has discussed rather than him demonstrating against air. Would have been much better for him to introduce each segment of the material at the board, then coach a player through the drill, followed by actual practice footage. Tough to follow for a beginning defensive line coach. I feel like I will need to get another tape to supplement this one.
