Features & Benefits Improve your Football coaching!Learn from Gary DeLoach!Take your team to the next level!Learn from the best, to become your best! with Gary DeLoach, University of North Texas Defensive Coordinator;formerUCLA Secondary CoachThe UCLA run defense ranked 9th in the nation in 2006, finishing over 100 spots higher than the year before. Coach DeLoach presents an inside look at how that impressive change came about. A main principle to the UCLA defense is to secure the perimeter of the defense. By putting the Sam back in the force position on the tight end side is key to starting your defense. Safeties are lined up 10 yards deep and their technique is flat foot read. A main focus is reading the backs to determine the play entry and blocking schemes. Reading this triangle is important for the linebackers and the safeties. DeLoach presents his alley rules for safeties. Force is the number one thing in the alley, meaning the run is turned back in by the first man on the play. The safety should never have a run/pass conflict. DeLoach also includes passing tools for the safties to use that help them in the run game. Using game footage, DeLoach effectively illustrates different coverages.102 minutes. 2007. See more products by: Gary DeLoach See other products you might like: $20 Videos ChampCoach Videos Man Zone
Ratings & Reviews Organization of Defensive Coverages & Three Types of Coverages: Safety Play vs the Run and Pass in Quarters Coverage on April 30, 2023 Currently 5/5 Stars.5/5 Stars 5 by Anonymous This is an older video on the 4-3 under Cover 4 but it is still well done. The first half goes over the Cover 4 defense vs. the run and the second half goes over pass coverage. Many of the principles discussed by Coach DeLoach are still relevant today. He provides lots of film study to cover the Cover 4 vs run and pass. Was this review helpful? Yes No Organization of Defensive Coverages & Three Types of Coverages: Safety Play vs the Run and Pass in Quarters Coverage on March 20, 2012 Currently 4/5 Stars.4/5 Stars 4 by coachk363 This DVD was *really* helpful, BUT its title is somewhat misleading (which is the only reason I'm not giving it a 5) as this is basically a film about quarters coverage. Five minutes before the end a cover 1/3 coverage is discussed where they play man to one side and zone to the other, and then 45 seconds before the film closes Coach DeLoach briefly mentions that they will also run a tampa 2 coverage to complement the quarters and cover 1/3. A more fitting title would be "Safety Play vs the Run and Pass in Quarters Coverage" because that is what the focus is, and DeLoach does an excellent job of explaining that part in great detail. 3 of 3 people found this review helpful. Was this review helpful?
