Running the ball is a very important weapon in Coach Schmidt's successful high school program and this DVD shows why. As a complement to the power running game, Schmidt shares his potent misdirection running game. The first key element of the misdirection scheme is that it keeps the defense honest. Another benefit is its ability to exploit or slow down fast flow linebackers. A third advantage of misdirection is that it forces the back side pursuit to say home. Offense advantages include: Allows for inside cutback run, diversifies your offense to get more people involved and it can be built into the "Check with me Package." Schmidt shares his philosophy in this DVD. Major points of emphasis include allowing a line of limited athletes to succeed, use various formations and limiting the number of plays by increasing the repetition. To clearly define each player's duties, Schmidt covers responsibilities for the quarterback, fullback and tailback.
