The One-Back Screen

Kansas State has consistently been one of the highest scoring teams in the nation. Its offense has always had a successful screen play package that has been used against all types of defenses. One successful component of their screen package is the One-Back Screen. Coach Peterson details the proper techniques, reads, and responsibilities of the wide receivers, tight end, running backs and quarterback. Coach Stanley continues with blocking assignments for the offensive line including blitz coverage, creating throwing lanes, attacking zone droppers, and releasing from the line. This DVD also includes excellent game footage to allow the viewer a greater understanding of how to teach this effective screen.

The Jailbreak Screen

Coach Peterson and Coach Stanley give a detailed look at their Jailbreak, or Middle, Screen that has been a staple of Kansas State's high scoring offense. They teach the Jailbreak from multiple formations versus man, zone, and blitz package defenses. Peterson begins the DVD by detailing the assignments, alignments, and the execution of the screen as it pertains to the wide receivers, running backs, and quarterback. He covers the proper alignment of the receivers, the 5-step quarterback drop, and necessary reads. Stanley continues by detailing the responsibilities and proper techniques the linemen must use against different defensive fronts. He discusses blocking responsibilities, how to get separation, how to effectively create an alley for the play to be successful, and blitz protection from the shotgun formation. This is a great play to have in your arsenal from a program whose offenses rank near the top nationally year in and year out!
