The series focus' on three plays in the split back veer offense. It would have been nice to have some passes included, but you can find that information elsewhere if you look carefully.
You will learn how to block most defenses, as well as concepts of why you are blocking things this way. In addition, you will see video of actual techniques employed in practice drills. One downside was there was nothing on blocking the 33 defense, but the video may have been made before the 33 was popularized.
You will learn the backfield technique for executing the triple option. You will see actual drill footage of players executing the veer, outside veer and cutback.
You will learn how to control defenses using the veer offense. This was the best part of the package. It gave a really nice philosophy of why you would make certain calls according to how the defense reacts. You will also lean how to set up blocks on linebackers by forcing the defender to have a reaction that will facilitate your blockers fits.
There is a practice organization video. Frankly, I was left confused by this. I get what the general idea was, but there really could have been better explanation or some more examples. There were some good points.
In summary, I am rating this package of videos a 4 out of 5. The main drawbacks were the confusing parts of the practice organization video and most importantly I felt there could have been more information plays and passing game put forth for buying a 4 video set for over $100. Now that being said, you get a very good core of plays, techniques and theory to begin to install the split back veer. As time evolves this information is becoming harder to come by. Finally, you cant argue with a program that has won over 20 state championships. For all of its downfalls, this series is probably still worth the money if you are running the offense. If you seek casual knowledge about the split back veer you can just order the controlling the defense video or look elsewhere for basic information.
