Dave Huxtable: Coaching Steps for Success

Coaches that make the effort to improve their coaching ability can make a difference. Coach Huxtable cites teamwork and coordinated efforts as the ingredients of great football teams, and believes that 90% of football is played with the heart and the mind and ultimately determines success on the field. Huxtable touches on his keys to developing great teams. Those keys include trust, which must exist between the player and coaches at all time; concentration and discipline in the film room; and conducting meaningful meetings and practices each day. Teaching players an eagerness to work is difficult but in time will prove worthy for the coaching staff. Five common errors for football coaches are shared to improve coaching. Huxtable also presents an evaluation of defensive breakdowns after a game.
