DeBoer diagrams five play action passes: Base Boot, Y Corner, Z Post, Pin and Naked. Each play is designed to force defenders to respect the run, which opens up passing lanes. DeBoer uses game footage to present each play in action with multiple formations and motions. The game tape breakdown also shows how good quarterback and running back fakes make or break a play.
