Defense wins championships and former Phoebus High School head coach Bill Dee has won four of the last eight Virginia Division 5 state championships. In 2008, Coach Dee's defense allowed only 53 points (3.5 per game) during his team's 15-0 season due in part to his low risk zone blitz package. Dee explains his defensive philosophy, game goals and defensive principles, as well as what skills and qualities he looks for when choosing his defensive players. Dee details player techniques and responsibilities for zone blitzes including field blitzes, middle blitzes and short blitzes.
