Features & Benefits Use dead ball situations to attack the basket Win more close games by being purposeful in dead ball situations Take advantage of jump balls, missed free throws, out-of-bounds plays and intense defensive pressure with Tom Izzo,Michigan State University Head Coach;Distinguished member of the Naismith Memorial Hall of Fame (2016);3x National Coach of the Year,2000 NCAA Tournament Champions; 7 Final Four appearances;7x Big Ten and 4x Big Ten Tournament Champions; 3x Big Ten Coach of the YearLearn special situations plays and strategies to help your team add 4-5 points a game-and win more close games!Tom Izzo shares his coaching philosophy on special situations - or what he calls "special teams situations." Any dead ball situation is considered a special teams opportunity and his goal is to be aggressive and pick up 4-5 points a game in special teams play. Use these plays and strategies to go after an opposing player who is in foul trouble, generate fouls against your opponent's best player and to get the shots you need late in the game. Special teams involves: Jump balls - See three plays to help you score on the first possession of the game. Missed offensive free throws - Get the ball back after a missed free throw. Baseline out-of-bounds - Five plays to attack from the baseline. Sideline out-of-bounds - Four plays with multiple options. Plays after time outs - Five set plays to neutralize heavy defensive pressure. Izzo stresses three main goals when it comes to special teams play: Score points, have a specific purpose and have two options (inside and outside).Izzo has used these effective plays and strategies to change his team from an NIT team to an NCAA tournament team and again from an NCAA qualifier to a team that makes a deep run in the tournament on annual basis. Now you can use these same ideas to improve and advance your team this season. 62 minutes. 2010. Izzo is captivating and gets his point across. Our program is one that is going to start taking more advantage of dead ball situations, and you really can get more ideas than you need from this. It also includes some quick hitters against pressure from a 1-4 high set. Well worth the money. 2 of 2 people found this review helpful. Was this review helpful? Yes No Tom Izzo: Winning Dead Ball Situations on March 13, 2013 Currently 5/5 Stars.5/5 Stars 5 by Jstnblke41 It certainly gives you what you want, a ton of plays from all dead ball situations. There is some repeated material from other Izzo tapes (particularly Smorgasboard) but overall there is a lot of stuff that is different and the players are all solid. I'd take a look at it if you were searching for some good OB and dead ball plays. 10 of 12 people found this review helpful. Was this review helpful? Yes No Tom Izzo: Winning Dead Ball Situations on September 27, 2012 Currently 4/5 Stars.4/5 Stars 4 by Anonymous Good DVD. Not great but it is solid Izzo. Nice to hear his philosophy on dead balls situations and why they are important. He sells his philosophy very well with some stats and evidence from his past. I've saw better DVD's from him that have great drills and more of his grit and toughness philosophy. But, if you are looking for some good BLOB's and SLOB's and jump ball plays its a good buy. 5 of 5 people found this review helpful. Was this review helpful? Yes No Tom Izzo: Winning Dead Ball Situations on May 22, 2011 Currently 5/5 Stars.5/5 Stars 5 by Anonymous Solid video...my only warning - if you own Smorgasboard and a couple of his other offensive-minded videos, you have already seen the majority of these sets/plays. "Chips," "Whizzer," etc. Otherwise, it does provide a new way to view dead ball situations. For this reason, almost gave it a 4, but it's still a quality Izzo video. 7 of 8 people found this review helpful. Was this review helpful? Yes No Tom Izzo: Winning Dead Ball Situations on May 8, 2011 Currently 5/5 Stars.5/5 Stars 5 by Anonymous It's Izzo being Izzo. I got some great stuff regarding OBU plays and set plays off of free throws. The best part of the video for me, was Izzo showing a series of OBU plays that could be run with different formations to start. I definitely got my money's worth from this DVD! 1 of 2 people found this review helpful. Was this review helpful?
