Legendary coach Tom Izzo provides a detailed look into the high-powered Michigan State Offense! This offense provides the spacing you need to effectively use quick hitters to take advantage of defensive mismatches.
In a clinic setting, Coach Izzo uses a 5-on-0 and 5-on-5 demonstrations to teach the Spartan's Horns, Chest and Elbow Series. Each series is presented in great detail and offers a collection of counters that take advantage of defensive adjustments and gets the ball to your most talented offensive players.
Horns Series:"Horns" is a 1-4 high set with four counters to confound any defense. Coach Izzo introduces post entries into the offense to counter defensive pressure on the wings.
Chest Series:"Chest" is a two guard front with five counters. This offense uses four players capable of playing on the perimeter and will get the ball to your best athlete and your best shooter.
Elbow Series:This unorthodox set with the posts at the "elbows" is an Izzo favorite. Four counters accompany the initial pattern.
Izzo emphasizes the simplicity of adding counters to what you already run. When adopting an offense, he asks, "How would the defense take it away?" Then, he develops counters that appear to be different plays. Counters allow your team to become more "player coached" and capable of making the adjustments that dumbfound defenses.
An informative video for quick hitters from one of the great coaches in college basketball. This video is a must have for any coach wishing to diversify and simplify their offense.

I purchased this two years ago and I really liked it. I did not implement any of it with my team, but I watched a ton of Mich St. games and I saw each set ran and how effective they were. In MSU''s first tourney game this year vs Georgia they ran the chest series to death and it was real effective. This DVD is well worth the buy and I have put some of the plays in with my AAU team this year and have had good success
This shows 3 sets of series plays, meaning plays starting in the same formation with similar actions. The sets themselves I'd say are very good, inside and out options on everything with really good counters gone over. What was more impressive to me though was how Izzo used key words and similar counters in most of the plays, this is a good one to learn how to install plays effectively for coaches who don't love plays. Really good one to check out.
