Coach Crean breaks down his entire offense, only to progressively re-assemble his offense to share his philosophy, skills and concepts. Shooting drills are introduced from three different places on the floor. Proper footwork is essential in all of these drills. Cone dribble drills challenge players and each drill ends by finishing the shot. By changing the location of cones, different plays can be worked on. Two essential techniques taught are running the baseline and using the wide pin down. Feeding the post 3-on-3 introduces three different techniques for scoring inside. The 3-12 is a unique drill that builds toughness and finishing. Players exit the drill when they score or are fouled. The challenging 3 minute one-on-one drill is competitive and develops toughness with the ball. A big part of offensive play is the drive and kick game. Crean demonstrates drills that help players see the floor, penetrate and kick to open shooters.
