Dan Hibson took his former high school program, which had not won a league game in over a decade, to back-to-back playoff appearances using this defense as the foundation of his program. Now you can learn the principles and techniques of this proven system.
Coach Hibson's 2-3 Switching Zone Defense combines the aggressive pressure of man defense while giving you the basket protection of a zone. This presentation includes an introduction of breakdown drills on the whiteboard, a software simulation to show the strategies and movement of the defense, and an extended on-court demonstration with players.
Chalk TalkCoach Hibson explains the sequence of drills needed to implement the defense and the reasons why the defense is successful. The points of emphasis of the Switching 2-3 Zone Defense are:
In the last portion of the video, you will see the full version of the defense in action against the most common offensive alignment for this zone defense. You see how the defense prevents rhythm jump shots and protects the post by clogging the middle.
Now you can deliver man defense pressure out of a 2-3 zone while guarding the post and the 3-point line. Order now!
85 minutes. 2013.
I thought the video was explained well for what he was doing. However, it was only explained against a basic 1-3-1 offense. It never explained how to combat it against high/low flashes or if a team screens against the zone. It was very basic.
I will have to teach myself to combat different ways teams will attack this.
I''ve watched many videos and found this to be the worst video I''ve ever purchased. He has a lot of unnecessary movement and a good passing team could tear this apart.Championship Productions replies:Coach, Please check our return policy for details on how you can receive a refund or exchange this item for something that better meets your needs. Great defense. Very unique defense. Not a video out there like this. I wish Dan Hibson had more videos out there of defenses he made up.
The defense reminded me a little of the Amoeba, but with a 23 set instead of the 113,different rotations, and the center staying inside at all times. I think the lead up drills were explained very well and the reasons that Coach Hibson designed and plays the defense were clearly outlined. He coached the drills with intensity and made clear coaching points throughout. The drills were progressive in their teaching and Coach was very clear with his terminology. If you want to play zone (really play it, not just hang around in the paint and hope someone misses shots!) and would like a different look than just the Syracuse 23 or standard 131 than this would be a good buy.
Outstanding for youth players. Great video with simple explanations
