with Jim Larranaga,University of Miami Head Coach;2012-13 AP National Coach of the Year;former George Mason University Head Coach; 2006 Final Four
Many coaches and programs have used the half-court scramble successfully for many years. Now, with this tape, comes the opportunity to cause offenses more problems by employing the full-court scramble. In this tape, Coach Larranaga details the five different forms this defense can take: man, quick trap, slow trap, twist, and zone pressure. He teaches the positioning and responsibilities of all five players in each situation and when is the best time to employ each. For example, twist is an excellent defense to use to take the ball out of the hands of an outstanding ball-handler. In addition, Coach Larranaga demonstrates the breakdown drills he uses to teach these defenses.

Coach Jim Larranaga provides an excellent teaching sequel to his popular Scramble Defense Series. In this tape, Coach Larranaga briefly reviews both types of scramble defense (first pass trap and ball-handler trap) and then gives an excellent review on how to use this effective defense against various offenses. These offenses include 1-4 high, 1-4 low, 2-1-2 or 2-3 set with a high-post, 4-out/1-in, and a secondary fast break set. Against each of these offenses, Coach Larranaga shows how to defend each with both types of scramble defense and includes the positioning and responsibilities of each position and the critical rotations.

Going to have a smaller team and looking for ways to take advantage of our quickness. These DVDs was very easy to follow and understand all the different concepts. Look forward to this season and putting it in.
Did not really like presentation. No on court demonstration in either video. Everything is demonstrated on dry erase board. I would have like to see player involvement and see defense being implemented in real time
I think this was a great dvd. If you are looking to start a pressing trapping defense this set is a must have. Explain all concepts completely so installing this defense is very easy.
Really solid series. Coach presents the material in an ultra-simple way. I really enjoy his presentation.
His system is really simple to learn and implement. I had it in completely in less than a week, and for my small, quick team, it was very effective.
I highly recommend this if you have a team that can keep up a quick pace and frenetic tempo. If you are small and get up against big, skilled-passing teams, they may throw over the top of you, but it will work on teams that may not be great ball handlers or sloppy in press breakers.
