This is a 3-out/2-in motion offense which is simplified with some basic rules for continuity. Because the offense is designed to pull one of your post players to the high post, it allows you to isolate your best big man at the low post with lots of room to score. The High/Low also places your perimeter players in position to score off the catch or dribble with the look of a true motion offense. Self uses on court demonstration to teach each player's responsibilities within the offense. 1999. 60 minutes. ISBN 1-56404-329-0.
thought this was very helpful. working for us well
Excellent. Good offense to run at the H.S level. Self covers about everything
The real negatives of this DVD come from it being a port from a video, no menus can make it a little cumbersome to navigate. I'm almost nitpicking though because this is a great offense that is really well presented; you get 3 entries, a run through of breakdown drills and Coach Self taking you through all the chances to score in the offense. Excellent continuity offense with motion concepts and counters to pressure that make it a great offense for youth through college level teams.
This dvd is from 1999 so I was skeptical on buying it. However, Coach Self does an excellent job teaching the offense and on-court demo's are great. You can still see portions of this same offense being run by Coach Self's current teams at Kansas. Most definitely worth the purchase price
Overall good video.
Excellent DVD. If a coach takes a third of what it presented and then instructs his/her players to perform just that third well, they will have a winning offense and get good shots.
Nicely explained and demonstrated.
Can't get a better overview of 3 out 2 in with drills than this DVD
