The earlier review provoked me to add a comment. Last year was my first coaching third graders. Once we got past the fundamentals, I was looking for something to make practices more interesting and provide tools/ideas to help them grow. They are a girls team. I thought Coach P did a fine job and I would recommend to anyone coaching this level. As far as fundamentals and organization, ck out Ray Lokar's set - it is excellent ... and always have Pistol Pete's DVDs in your 'arsenal' - phenomenal!

Cover indicates practice for 1-4 grade. In the practice Coach Petitgoue uses 10 and 11 year olds with strong skills. It simply defeats the purpose and intent of the dvd's premise. Show the practice with the correct age group. As a youth basketball director I was very disappointed on many levels. If you are starting a program for 1st - 4th, show the kids using size appropriate basketballs at height appropriate baskets, most of the drills demonstrated would be difficult at best for the average 1/2 grade kid. Lay-ups need to be broken down way more than demonstrated. Footwork, for example, should deal with jump stop, stride stop, pivoting, etc. It does have some skills that would work with 6 & 7 year olds, but not many. Passing was not even covered. It is obvious coach knows what he is doing, but this dvd, as a tool for youth basketball coaches ages 6-9 is weak at best......it is adequate for 10/11 year olds.
