With coach Paulsen's unique gift as a teacher, he takes you into his video library to learn the basics by breaking down game footage of the offense in action. These clips are an important piece to gaining a full understanding of this exciting offense. Coach then takes his players on the court and walks them through a detailed 5-on-0 shell covering every possible situation that may occur defensively against the Ball Screen Motion Offense. He covers the three main set-ups for the offense: Side, Spread and Alley. These sets will allow your team to attack the paint from multiple angles. You'll see six different options after the screen that either lead to a score or set you up for another ball screen scenario. Not only does it give your team multiple ways to attack, but it will turn a set play into an extremely tough motion offense. In a 5-on-5 setting, he lets you in on even more options based on how the opposing defense may try to stop you. These walk-throughs followed by quick peeks of the lessons in action give great insight into the simplicity of the offense, but also show how effective it can be.This is an extraordinary complement to Coach Paulsen's All Access series. This video could easily stand on its own, but adding it to the All-Access Practice provides a "complete guide" to the Ball Screen Motion Offense!63 minutes. 2012. Ratings & Reviews The Ball Screen Motion Offense on August 30, 2017 Currently 3/5 Stars.3/5 Stars 3 by JohnBostrom881 This video includes both on the court instruction as well as game video tape with breakdowns. Not all the video is great quality, with some of it being really dark and hard to see. Also the on the court is more like All Access, as there is no audience. As far as this being a motion offense, you'll have to really study it to see what the motion actually is as coach doesn't go through the whole motion. Most sets are 4 out 1 in, with rules for the post depending on the screen action and drives into the paint. A large part of the instruction is focused on screens, pick & pop, pick & roll, refusing screens, and icing the screen (screener sliding from screen). If you already have this down then this video is really not intended for you. There are no drills here either. I haven't seen the other ball screen DVD by Dave Paulsen but it looks like the drills are over there. The most disappointing part of this video is that the motion is never gone through fully. You'll see a 4 low set about halfway through along with a few others basic entry sets. The poor video content at the beginning doesn't help either. Great possibilities here but ultimately a bit disappointing. 2 of 2 people found this review helpful. Was this review helpful?
