Each camp contains an outstanding group of experienced high school, college and professional coaches selected for their ability to teach the game.

MOVING WITHOUT THE BALL (Hanlen - 42 minutes):
Coach Hanlen discusses five types of cuts an offensive player can make to create space when coming off a screen to receive a pass. Each one is demonstrated and explained in detail. Hanlen will introduces a 4 v 4 cut throat drill that forces players to use one of the five cuts to get open.

POST PLAYER FUNDAMENTALS (Logalbo/Myers - 28 minutes):
Learn the necessary skill-sets all post players need to be successful. Included is instruction on both post-up position and entry passes. Each coach uses drills to teach you the footwork, body position and hand position from both the post and guard's point of view.

INDIVIDUAL OFFENSE (Hanlen - 35 minutes):
Sell your fakes and use quick body movements--"violent strikes"--to throw your defender off balance and take them out of their stance and positioning. Coach Hanlen delivers 1 v 0 and 1 v 1 drills to exploit holes in the defense and get a feel for footwork, speed, timing, control and quick offensive strikes.

TRANSITION OFFENSE (Saevre - 18 minutes):
Starting with a 2 v 1 scenario, and culminating with a 5 v 5 set, Coach Saevre explains the importance of making good, quick decisions in game-like situations. He them moves into a secondary break drill demonstrating player movements and responsibilities to get a good, quick shot. The importance of passing ahead is emphasized, and quick decision making is drilled heavily.

OFFENSIVE SKILL WORK: PICK & ROLL (Hanlen - 41 minutes):
Coach Hanlen teaches the art of the pick and roll by thoroughly explaining the various read progressions a guard must go through when coming off of the screen to attack the defense. Hanlen uses drills to teach foot position, shoulder placement, maintaining vision when coming off of a screen and to reinforce all of the scenarios and reads he discusses.

ZONE OFFENSE (Locke - 30 minutes):
Learn a simple, but very effective zone offense! Passing and the pass fake are the most effective tools a player has to disrupt a zone. Coach Locke uses a 4 v 4 shell drill to teach you how to attack the seams in the zone even if you don't have the ball. He demonstrates how to use the dribble to penetrate gaps and get into the seams forcing two defenders to guard one offensive player. He also demonstrates how to use a drift dribble to drag the defender off balance and displace the zone creating bigger seams and gaps.

featuring Tates Locke, Former NCAA and NBA Coach

Snow Valley Basketball Camp is one of the premier camps in the nation. Featured in Sports Illustrated as one of the best fundamental basketball camps in the country, the camp's primary focus is on helping players improve their individual basketball skills in every area of the game. In this series, Tates Locke takes you through five intense defensive sessions from the renowned Snow Valley Basketball Camp. You will learn an advanced progression of skills you can use to rebuild your defensive game and develop a lock down mentality on the court. Defensive stance, jumping to the ball, defending the screen and roll, and defensive transition are all addressed by Coach Locke.

DEFENSIVE STANCE (32 minutes)
The most important and only weapon you have against your man is your feet. Your feet are what will get you to the next level. Coach Locke shows you how to use basic defensive drills to build a foundation for shutdown defense.

ON BALL DEFENSE: Ball & Wings (29 minutes)
Transition from guarding a man without the ball to guarding the man with the ball. Coach Locke teaches you how to defend the ball as soon as your man receives it, how to take the offense out of its rhythm, and provides 1v1, 2v2, and 3v3 drills you can use to teach and practice these essential concepts.

OFF BALL DEFENSE: (20 minutes):
Learn to effectively shut down your man when he doesn't have the ball. Coach Locke provides his five core responsibilities to make you effective and takes you through segments on contesting screens, defending the flasher and how to defend the wing to wing action.

Locke reinforces ball-side/help-side recognition using various versions of the Shell Drill. These shell drills focus on constant communication and on the ball-you-man triangle to keep the offense in check.

TRANSITION DEFENSE: (18 minutes):
This session covers one of the most difficult, but most important, parts of the game - transition defense. Snow Valley Basketball Camp is one of the premier camps in the nation. Featured in Sports Illustrated as one of the best fundamental basketball camps in the country, the camp's primary focus is on helping players improve their individual basketball skills in every area of the game. Each camp contains an outstanding group of experienced high school, college and professional coaches selected for their ability to teach the game.

SHOOTING FORM (Franzen - 30 minutes)
Learn a series of shooting drills to improve your shooting form and develop effective backspin whether you're stepping into your shots when receiving a pass or shooting off the dribble.

SHOOTING THE JUMP SHOT (Franzen - 26 minutes)
Use the jump stop technique to deliver balance to your jump shot! After re-emphasizing the form and balance techniques from the first segment, Coach Franzen adds a shot fake into the drill and has each camper utilize a two dribble limit to create space. He then demonstrates the jump stop technique to provide balance for your shot.

SHOOTING (Franzen - 36 minutes)
Coach Franzen continues to build the jump shot by advancing campers from stationary shooting to shooting on the move. Shot faking and rip-through moves are reinforced to give you options against any closing out defender. Get your opponent to settle in and lose his balance with drills to work on V-cuts, jump stops, shot fakes, rip-throughs, and shooting balance.

CUT THROAT (9 minutes)
Put all of your skills to work in a game of Cut Throat! This is a fast-paced game that players enjoy and it helps coaches discern where additional work is needed. Players learn the importance of squaring up to the basket, rebounding, thanking the passes, having good body language, accepting a referee's call and more.

REBOUNDING (Myers - 20 minutes)
Rebounding is hard work and a lot of time and effort is required to hone this skill. Coach Myers provides an easy-to-follow drill progression that will build the skills you need to become proficient at rebounding.

SCREENING (Locke - 23 minutes)
All players love to play with a guy who can screen effectively because an effective screen is very hard to defend. If done properly, you can run the screens over and over and over and the defense will not be able to stop you because you will know how to read and react to every screen. Coach Locke guides you through the techniques necessary to set solid screens. Having the knowledge and skill to set screens will make any offense more productive.

BACKCOURT PLAY (Hanlen/Bontrager - 23 minutes)
Learn offensive cuts you can use to get open when facing pressure in the back court. Coach Hanlen works these techniques with a 1 v 0 drill that incorporates these back court cuts, but also includes dribble drives, jump stops, and individual "in and out dribble" offensive skill moves to finish the drill. He then puts players in a live, continuous 2 v 1 drill that incorporates help defense, offensive cutting and quick offensive decision-making. Coach Bontrager demonstrates a drill that involves in-bounding the ball against pressure. The session closes with a continuity drill that puts everything discussed together: back court cutting, ball handling, defensive pressure, quick decision-making, offensive moves, and more.

REBOUNDING, OUTLET, AND TRANSITION FROM THE POST (Saltzstein - 22 minutes)
Coach Saltzstein take you through a rebound-outlet- transition progression and show you how to attack your opponent and make your transition game more effective. You will learn the importance of each position in transition, the advantage of being up court on the outlet pass and reducing dribbling by passing to open teammates.
