Coach Smart is a great teacher! This video is no different. He spends a great deal of time discussing the press, and breaks down every part of his Man to Man press, and also his "diamond" or 1-2-1-1 press. He also gives a few drills that you can use as breakdown drills for implementing these presses.

I would recommend anyone looking to learn more about pressing to purchase this video!

A rating of 3 might be a little harsh but I was expecting this to be one of those videos that you watch and then want to watch it again right away because there was so much info you couldn't take it all in. That wasn't the case. I found the presentation disjointed at times and just lacking the information on how to teach the Havoc system.

This video is an excellent resource for the basic components of full court pressure defense. The 1-2-2 or 1-2-1-1 full court press is walked through step by step.

Excellent video from an excellent coach and teacher. Would have liked to see more drills tough.

This was a solid video. It gets the very basic principles of what Shaka's pressing and philosophy is all about. He is a bit scattered in the beginning, leaves out his sideline diamond press, and doesn't really give any breakdown drills. You can watch this and get the basic concepts, but you do not have any breakdown drills. I love Shaka Smart and his style of play, but couldn't rate this higher because it seems to only skim the top. It did leave me wanting to learn more about it.

Teaches press very well. Does a nice job showing when and how to trap.

He does a good job overall of explaining the overview of the press but the DVD is short and doesn't go through the "what ifs". What if a team gets it at this part of the court and gets it up the sideline and your behind. A lot of little details left out and no Q&A

Really demonstrates in a simple and effective method the different approaches to his press.

Coach smart's full court man press isn't really all that complicated. It's relatively simple and let's your players freedom to read the offense. Seems like a fun way to pressure the ball. I enjoyed the video. I gave it 5 stars for coach smart's teaching points on fundamental skills needed to run this press and his points of emphasis.

It should be noted, there aren't any drills performed during the video to help install his press, but I guess ere really isn't any need. He gives a few examples of what drills can be done which smarts your coaching mind.

I personally am more if a fan of very aggressive trapping zone defenses in the half court, but in the full court I will definitely use coach smarts havoc style man to man press. Coach smart's explanation for everything gets you thinking about making adjustments for how you can install your coaching style. Quality video and great explanations for every action performed. Glad I bough this DVD.

I personally will be using his full court man to man system, as it requires a lot from your players and the opposition, your players will become better basketballers using these pressure defence systems

First half the video is a lot of talking on the basics of the how to trap when to trap. Doesn't get into actual demonstration until about 25 to 30 minutes in. Only draw back is I wish there was more time to the DVD. Overall, the systems are explained well and you do get several demonstrations before it ends. I wish there were a few more reps of each type of press and I would have loved to hear all the questions asked.

Very good presentation - would have liked to gotten a little more on his diamond press but his teaching points for his man-to-man pressure are excellent.

Coach Smart is very inspiring and definitely knows his stuff. I just wish the DVD went into a little more detail. There is an overview of the presses, but not much in the way of drills and how to implement the defense from the ground up.

I have been coaching for 40 plus years and have used the same press with a number system . Shaka has done a great job breaking little nuances on reading the dribbler. This helps the read on making the jump or trap easer.
Very good explanation on the press and he answers the question why you press. We also won our State Championship using the press.

I really liked this video. It really helped me to understand how to teach how to press and things you want to force the opponent into. I will be using a a lot of what Shaka Smart said in my practices. I wish it was a little longer also or was his own team to really show his press.

I watched VCU play a couple times and assumed they had a very intricate, however this DVD changed that rather quickly. Coach Smart is nothing short of brilliant and this video showcases not only his coaching ability but also his teaching ability. I would recommend purchasing this video in a heartbeat

I definitely recommend this video for any coach who is interested in developing a team that can play good pressure defense. Coach Smart does a great job of laying out all of the key elements to a good man to man press. The segment about the 1-2-1-1 Press is also very good. It's a little brief, but he still shows you enough so that if you have the athletes for it you'll be able to use it. An all-access would be a great compliment to this dvd though.

Good Explanation of concepts and movement through the presses. Would like to see a follow up presentation with some drill work to break down certain situations.

Nice DVD. Very simple philosophies, nothing complex. Very easy to understand and he explains "why" they do what they do.

This video was outstanding. Shaka does an excellent job explaining how, why, and where actions take place on the court. His Q&A portion is solid. Another video that parallel's this one is the Bruce Pearl Encyclopedia of Full Court Pressure. Both of these are a must have in your coaching library!!!

This is the best video I've seen on the man-to-man press. You get a few drills to build the pressure but they are nothing special. What I really liked were his rules on when to trap and he also went into explaining "Fix-It" situations - how to transition back when the defense is beat. He went into a lot more detail on the man-to-man press than in anything else on the video.

He does go into the diamond press but I would definitely recommend the Encyclopedia of Fullcourt Pressure instead. It just seemed to skip many details that I think are important. Things I liked about his diamond press coverage were how to trap when the ball is passed to the weakside corner, getting a second trap on reversals, and also how to trap when you are beat on a pass to the middle by a flashing big.

Coach Smart does a good job going through the responsibilities and roles of the players in the two presses he presents. But, would've been good to see some of the breakdown drills he does instead of him just giving a quick anecdote about it. Seeing an "All Access" from VCU would be something for the future where we could all benefit from Coach Smart's enthusiasm and knowledge on the court.

I've used this press for over 10 years and I learned little things and better phrases and clearer ways of showing kids the press.It was worth the money and will help you if you're a press coach.

I coach a team that uses a Run and Jump Man to Man full court defense, so I was excited to see what sort of tips and tidbits I could find in a Shaka Smart video on Havoc. And I must admit I was slightly disappointed. His talk was very vague, and general. I preferred the UT-Arlington All Access Pass as a full court pressure training aid.

Thank You. I've been waiting for anything from Shaka Smart on this subject, and probably would have paid any price. I'm in the Pacific Northwest, and we don't get too many high profile, non-regional, national names at our clinics with regularity. It's shorter than I would have liked(just one clinic hour), but I understand there was a huge market for anything with Coach Smart's name on it. It was like a taste of Havoc, an appetizer. Now, I'll be waiting for an All-Access, or Encyclopedia of Havoc, or anything else we can get from Coach Smart with a more in-depth look at breakdown drills building up to 5 on 5. You can put me on the preorder list!
