Use this defense to keep the ball out of the lane and force more contested jump shots.91 minutes. 2011.
Excellent DVD. We currently are playing packs style defense and Coach Boone gave me several drills to add to our defensive package. I also have the other Boone DVD on the pack defense and they are both excellent but if I had to choose one over the other I would take this one. Very worthwhile even if you are currently playing a pack style defense.
Great DVD. Coach Boone is a great teacher and very intense. I wish he had been more intentional about a teaching progression although I think that was his intent with the breakdown of the different areas to cover (conversion, post, ball, gap).
The drills were great and easy to understand. I had a great understanding of the Pack Line after watching this DVD and my team has caught on quickly.
I'd recommend this as a must have DVD for Pack Line.
Coach Boone teaches the Dick Bennett in a great DVD. If you want to learn the Pack, this DVD does the job!
The best part of this video is watching Coach Boone conducting practice with his own players. It is at the beginning of the season, so he has some veteran players who understand the system and new players to the system. It will give you a better understanding of where to put your emphasis in practice, especially at the beginning of the season. Worth the buy.
This is basically a focused all access video. Besides teaching aspects of the pack line defense, the dvd was valuable in motivating me as a coach and providing me with some ides for conducting my own practices. The strength of the video lies in watching a successful "old school, no nonsense" coach run a disciplined defense-oriented practice. The instruction/drills are presented in the pace of a real practice with all its distractions, so it may take some adjustment on the viewer's part if they are used to the slower pace, step-by-step environment of a clinic-style setting. After watching the sample video, I am assuming that Coach Boone's "Building Blocks of the Pack Line Defense" fits that bill.
