  • Learn how to use the ball screen offense to create high percentage shots for your bigs and guards
  • Put pressure on your opponent's defense and create mismatches
  • Utilize the pick and roll in your man and zone offense
with Wes Peek, Southport High School (IN) Head Coach

Give your guards the freedom to use their creativity and take advantage of their skills with this ball screen pick-and-roll offense.

Using white board diagrams and on court demonstration, Wes Peek teaches you how to run the high ball screen offense utilizing an athletic 4, a true point guard, and a knock down shooter. You will learn verbal and visual cues, how to use specific player's abilities, and variations of the ball screen offense.

Peek begins with three basic entries into the ball screen offense, then covers the details to successfully run it versus a man or zone defense. When run correctly, this offense will move the help defense out of position, create long recoveries and put the opponent's bigs in a situation where they have to defend on the perimeter.

In this DVD, you will learn to:

  • Utilize the pick and roll in your man and zone offense
  • Learn Cues and Calls to help you teach and execute the offensive sets
  • Learn how to run the offense from multiple sets and out of your transition offense
  • Counters and reads to teach your players how to react to switches and hard hedges
  • Drill the whole offense at once to maximize repetition.
Learn to maximize scoring opportunities for everyone on the floor.

66 minutes. 2011.

This is a really good video. Coach Peek does a good job explaining it. It is well organized and looks like it could be ran with any age group or ability level. I like how he shows multiple entries into the offense.

I liked this one a lot. A deceptively simple continuity pattern, simple enough to be taught quickly to many age groups. But there are enough variations, entries, and teaching points to make it a more complex system if you want it to. Starts w a whiteboard Xs and Os so you know where you're going. Well explained. Would have liked to see it in some games, or against a competitive defense--most is 5 on 0. Still an excellent well explained video if you want a quick easy to pick up system.

The offense is a continuous ball screen offense. It use the post players very little compared to other ball screen offenses. They are basically screeners only. The post players never touch the ball unless it is a pick and pop or hit them in the roll. If you are looking for an offense to keep the ball away from your post unless they are 2 feet from the basket then this is your offense. The spacing is not great on the variations of the offense. There is also no 5 on 5 demonstration. It is completely 5 on 0 other than a few minutes when talking about the zone (even then it is 5 on 4). Not what I was looking for at all. Maybe it will be of some help to you. The zone offense is decent, but again unless you have a big that is good with his back to the basket then this offense is out of date in today's basketball.

Excellent video - well organized and the coach is very clear in his explanation of the execution of the offense and the coaching points that will be helpful in implementing the offense. Would definitely recommend it for anyone that is looking for a simple ball screen continuity offense.

I just finished watching this video and it is a must have for a ball screen coach. Coach Peek does a great job explaining and breaking his offense into easily implemented parts. Make sure to get his breakdown video as part of the package.

I really think this is one of the best Pick and Roll/Ball Screen Continuity Offenses, Coach Peek did a fantastic job teaching this and the fact that you only have to make a slight adjustment against the Zone makes it much easier then having to install a separate Zone Offense. Great Teacher and love the offense. If you are running a ball-screen offense this is the ticket!!!

Coach Peek does a great job explaining this offense and giving a variety of entries for getting into the continuity. There are also some general rules for ball screening that you can use for any offense. I liked that he gave some variations to use depending on the way the defense plays you. Overall, very well done!
