Attack from all areas on the court!
Join Duke Women's Basketball Coach Joanne P. McCallie as she leads you through principles and responsibilities of the 1-2-2 Match-Up Zone Defense. Coach McCallie's on-court demonstration includes pass rules, dribble rules, rules vs. cutters, rules vs. a two-guard front, rules vs. the Pick and Pop and rules against two high posts for both of these attacking defenses.
Coach McCallie opens by explaining the four principles that your defensive scheme must follow if you want to be successful. Breaking down the 1-2-2 Match-Up, McCallie emphasizes that you must disrupt the ball, eliminate passing lanes and place pressure on the offense.
In addition to explaining these principles, McCallie demonstrates on the court where defenders must be in each situation. McCallie finishes out by providing two pressing drills that you can use to help your team build the pressure on your opponent to force turnovers and bad shots.
With this video you will be able to create a tough defense that will keep opponents guessing and change the tempo of the game.

Great dvd on the Match-up. Coach McCallie does a great job in presenting the defense using an on-court demonstration. She does a nice job in presenting the assignments of each player in game-like conditions. The only weakness of the dvd is the lack of breakdown drills used to teach the defense. Her teaching style is to use 5 on 5 and let the players "figure it out," which is fine for higher level athletes, but is difficult for lower level coaches and players to adjust to. Overall, a great video in teaching the her match-up defense.
Great teaching video. Coach McCallie does a fantastic job of defining the rules and roles of each position. Her presentations is fun to watch and I love how she interacts with her player. Watching her on video is great, but go see her live. Her passion for the game of Basketball is contagious. Thank you Championship Productions for this video and all that you do for Basketball.
This was okay, but not one of the better dvd''s I''ve seen. No breakdown drills and not very much on guarding situations (ie, 2-guard front, baseline runner). If you want to play the 122 I would go with the Flip Saunders, Tim Jankovich (not many drills there either though) Nick Cammarano presentations on the subject.
Like others - I bought this particular DVD
( her 3rd on this subject ) because of the
Idea of adding the FC trap into the defense )
I get that you changed the title but offering
Another DVD to those purchasing this one
Might be a good customer accommodation
Not sure if the new rules or personnel
dictated a change but Coach P ran a lot
More 2-3 than her signature 1-2-2 this year
From the games I saw on TV
The coach seems very knowledgeable and does a good job teaching the 1-2-2 match-up zone, but the title is misleading. The DVD doesn't discuss the 1-2-1-1 FullCourt Press as the title would indicate. The video falls short of living up to the title.Championship Productions replies:Coaches,
We have changed the title of this product to more accurately reflect what is in the video. We have dropped the 1-2-1-1 Full Court Press from the title. Thank you for your feedback!
We hope you enjoy Coach McCallie's match up zone. She is a highly respected defensive coach!
This video was all about the 1-2-2 Match-Up Zone which was okay at best. However, there wasn't anything about the 1-2-1-1 Full Court Press except for a couple of drills. The title is misleading. Quite disappointing.
Joanne McCallie does a great job of explaining her match-up zone and full-court. She is a great teacher, and explains her system in detail.
