with Greg Kampe, Oakland University Head Coach;

With a reputation for requiring dynamic, play-making perimeter players, the Dribble Drive Offense has become the go-to offensive structure for teams that possess athletic perimeter players. In this DVD, Greg Kampe shares a new wrinkle to the offense that lessens the importance of having dynamic play-makers on the perimeter.

While most teams try to hide their post players in this offense, Kampe teaches how easily a dribble drive team can create simple scoring opportunities for his post players.

Coach Kampe provides a great breakdown of the guard responsibilities in his offense. Using simple, one syllable cues, Kampe walks the players through the many fluid options that are available.

By initiating the offense with an unorthodox strategy - picking up the ball at the elbow - coach shows how to execute the first simple "loop" play. This leads to many other options including the "pitch", "kick" and "skip." With his "through" cue, an immediate driving lane is opened at the top and multiple options to pass and score appear. Kampe also includes backdoor options and ball screen plays to create different looks within the offense.

By naming offensive movements, Kampe can then string these movements together to create countless numbers of offensive sets that yield unpredictability within his free-flowing motion scheme. All motions are demonstrated via 5 on 0 dummy action and then as live, 5-on-5 competition.

As the team learns the guard action, Coach Kampe introduces a variety of post options that highlight this great video. By using some "flex" action, Kampe shows how the post can get a deep post up. If your team has a great shooting big, he demonstrates an easy way to create a high percentage elbow shot from the offense.

Through multiple duck-in options the post can take advantage of an aggressive help defense team and can potentially become the most dangerous scorer on the floor. Even on misses from the guards, the offense creates tremendous weak side rebounding and scoring opportunities for the post player.

The video ends with Kampe demonstrating the "Loop-Through-Fist" combination against a 2-3 zone as a means to disorient a defense and create an open scoring opportunity for a sharp-shooter.

The dribble drive offense should no longer be considered a playground offense. In 2010 and 2011, Kampe's teams finished in the top 10 nationally in scoring. With its multiple options for the guards and its dangerous scoring opportunities for the bigs - as shown in this video - opposing coaches will soon discover that the dribble drive offense has evolved.

This is a great video. The best dribble drive video in my opinion if working with high school players. It does not really include drills however Coach Kampe is very willing to respond to your requests on drills questions etc. via email.

I really enjoyed this video! Some creative, fresh approaches to getting the ball to a post player in the dribble drive. Coach Kampe offers a series of verbal cues relative to each particular movement in the offense. This allows coaches to find the shots their teams need instead of suffering through a possession-long dribble-fest. He emphasizes spacing, control and execution to achieve the best results in the dribble drive offense. I put these verbal cues in our offense in practice yesterday with my 8th grade boys team. In fifteen minutes, we were running Loop-Pitch-Red vs. defense and getting easy shots. The kids were psyched because everyone was involved in the execution of the sequence...and the post player got the ball for an easy drop step layup. There are plays for just about any shot you would like to get from any particular player on the floor...including a nice sequence for a ball screen big-to-small and small-to-big. The best thing is you get to maintain the integrity of the dribble drive offense while being able to quickly and seamlessly get the shots you need. I've got at least 100 of instructional dvd's. This ranks right up there in my top 10 for easy-to-understand, easy-to-implement, effective offensive instruction.
