"I have been working with Rob since college and he has made my transition from college to the NBA very smooth. His detailed, intense, and unique workouts push me to achieve my goals. I have improved every year since I have worked with Rob and will continue to train with him every year."
-- Russell Westbrook,
3x NBA All Star, Olympic Team Gold Medalist

with Rob McClanaghan, professional basketball trainer;
has trained some of the top players in the NBA, including Kevin Durant, Derrick Rose, Russell Westbrook, Kevin Love, Stephen Curry, Anthony Davis and WNBA stars Candace Parker and Skylar Diggins

NBA skill trainer Rob McClanaghan shares his blueprint for building the complete perimeter player. The drills included in this DVD are the same drills that he used to help develop players like Kevin Durant, Derrick Rose, Kevin Love and Russell Westbrook.

Starting with the fundamental principles of shooting, players get strategies for checking their form for perfection. By using stationary and moving ball handling drills, players learn to attack the rim with confidence against even their toughest opponent. Players will improve their skill by learning how to change speed and direction when they attack the rim from the top of the key, the wing, and off ball screens.

Shooting Form
Players can master their shooting techniques and skills using Coach McClanaghan's on-court demonstration of how to properly shoot a ball.

Stationary and Moving Ball Handling
Even the most advanced players need to work on the basics. Coach McClanaghan uses stationary ball handling drills and movement drills to maximize the skill level of every player. This set of 10 simple, time-efficient drills can be done daily to improve players' dribbling technique and accuracy. McClanaghan then works on several new dribbling moves that will create scoring opportunities for everyone on the court.

Change of Speed/Direction
Effective perimeter players must be able to deceive their defender by changing their speed and direction. To help build that skill, Coach McClanaghan shares a set of "off the wing," game-like moves. In order to be effective, players need a jab step. Coach McClanaghan shows you what an effective jab step looks like as well as how to counter off the jab step. One move blends into the next and each counter makes you that much more potent with your hands on the ball on the wing.

Ball Screens
Guards that use ball screens must master the technique of setting up their defender and using ball screens to be a threat. Learn how to attack defenders whether they're hedging, hard hedge, trapping, or going under the screen. With each new defense, players learn how to read the screen from the wing and understand how to react to be able to score.

Dribble pull-ups, lateral action and penetrate and kicks are also covered in this workout. Each has a drill or two that will help any player become more effective from the outside.

Coach McClanaghan focuses on details in every drill and spends time explaining the importance of inches. His drills are not only designed for skill development, but they improve conditioning and performance under duress, as well.

This is a jam-packed DVD from one of the best NBA skill trainers. Whether you're looking for new idea or just a new drill, Coach McClanaghan will teach you how to build the best perimeter players you can find.

Very average at best. First there is not nearly enough variety in drills, uses different moves and progressions but very little imagination in the setup. There is also a lot of talking, and while at times the information is very important I think that it is too often about players he has worked with and really just filler. I will say that what is presented is sound information, but I've seen it all before. There is nothing new, innovative or even creative about any of this DVD which is disappointing when you invest so much in a product. I'd consider it if you are a young coach who is a novice to individual development. Pass otherwise.
