One of the nation's most accomplished high school coaches, Don Showalter has won over 500 games. Since 1998, he has been involved in various capacities with USA Basketball and was named the 2009 USA Basketball Developmental Coach of the Year.
Coach Showalter shares his years of experience as a head coach and how he development and refined his philosophy to enable him to get the most out of his practice sessions. He believes you must be able to make adjustments to fit your personal, you must have a passion, and you must create an atmosphere that the players enjoy and want to improve.
He shares 17 practice thoughts and ideas from expectations, team building ideas, communication circle, having drills that makes players hate to lose, teach in the sandwich method, as well as teaching in sound bites not in paragraphs. All of these are areas to make you think as a coach to improve your practices and get your players vested into what you what to accomplish as a team.
On the court, Coach Showalter shares some of his favorite combo drills for full- and half-court work. His four-part Texas Drill is a full court drill incorporating speed dribble layups, jump shots, the perfect lay up and a 5-ball combination lay up/jump shot drill. He finishes showing his offensive and defensive cut throat drills where you incorporate three rules that must be followed to stay in the drill. These drills can be done in a 3-on-3 or 4-on-4 setting.

A usefull DVD on how and what to organise during your practise. Don Showalter shows his way of motivating his team's. It is what he thinks what is usefull in training and coaching a team. It is worth the money!
