Every coach who has tried to put in a regular freelance motion offense has felt the headache of confusion and uncertainty. In this DVD, Dennis Felton provides you with a motion offense that is structured so that each player on the court knows where to be and what options they have with the ball. Felton's 4-out 1-in motion offense is as simple as it gets when it comes to teaching and learning a motion offense. Through on-court demonstration, Felton guides you through the responsibilities that each player has with and without the ball. He teaches the movement of the players when the ball is reversed and when it's passed into the post, and shows who, and when, to screen to create open looks at the basket. To reinforce the actions of each player in the offense, Coach Felton provides extensive game footage outlining his high post play, the 2-guard game, low post feeds, penetration, screens, and everything else included in the 4-out 1-in motion offense. Coaches, this is the motion offense video that you all have been waiting for!
75 minutes. 2005.
OK video, but is exactly like Bill Self's High-Low Motion offense - small differences but the main emphasis is the same.
This appears to be a good, simple offense to execute. But in my opinion, the term "motion" is a misnomer because this is actually more of a pattern offense though. But then again, as the name says, this is a structured offense. This offense is more predictable than pure motion. But it is also easier to teach. Good DVD if you are looking for more structure within your motion. The only real negative is I wish he would have given more breakdown drills. But this DVD gives you exactly what it says it will- a structured "motion" offense.
