"D-Unit 101" is Rizzo's system for intense, on the ball defense. Rizzo reveals his five steps to suffocating defense teaching each step with passion, enthusiasm and discipline.

Step 1: The Stance. Being quick on defense requires a fundamentally sound stance. Rizzo teaches the stance and his "defensive slide test," to evaluate players' stance and sliding technique.

Step 2: Move the Correct Foot First. Create a quicker slide technique! Rizzo shows you how correcting your slide can add quickness to your defensive game, how to harass your opponent by constantly forcing him to turn and how to use your arms as defensive weapons.

Step 3: Drop Step and Attack. Learn to cut-off the dribbler and keep pace with his change of direction. Rizzo demonstrates how to use the heel toe technique for lightning quick recoveries.

Step 4: Smother the Ball. Attack dead balls using Rizzo's unique arm motion.

Step 5: Draw the Charge. Defensive frustration leads to ball handlers attempting to create space. Take advantage of pushing off and low shoulders by taking the charge and getting the ball back.

Rizzo takes these defensive concepts and adds four additional drills you can do to work these techniques, create defensive endurance and put teeth in your defense.
