Coach Bruce Pearl walks you through the defense that enabled him to be the quickest head coach to win 200 games in NCAA history. In a lecture-style setting, Coach Pearl details each player's responsibilities, when and how to trap, and transitional coverage once the pressure has been broken. Pearl uses game film to help breakdown the X's and O's of a pressure defense. Pearl uses each defensive breakdown as a specific teaching point to reiterate the rules of his press. He also covers half-court defensive drills to develop the proper defensive mentality necessary to play effective pressure defense. Defensive areas covered include stance, ball pressure, closing out, wing denial, trapping, taking charges, and rebounding.
