Ratings & Reviews Bob McKillop: Winning Close Games with Special Plays on May 30, 2017 Currently 2/5 Stars.2/5 Stars 2 by belacyrf Not really sure why the great reviews of this. I think Bob McKillop is probably a really great coach, but this title is very mis-leading. You think you're getting a video of special plays, but Bob himself states that you don't need special plays just run what you have with different looks. This video probably shows 2 or 3 Baseline OOB looks and 1 Sideline OOB look with counters. That's really it I dig Bob's style and emphasis on being detail oriented, but I don't see the value in this video as a special situation vid. He seemed to relish in playing mind games with opposing coaches and teams in the stories he told. Tugging on his shirt meant one play, maybe fixing his tie meant another or tying his shoe. And the next time he played the same team, the signals would symbolize different plays or actions off the same BLOB/SLOB alignment. I also liked the detailed approach he took to getting rebounds off missed free throws. There's always an advantage to be found and I think clawing to find that advantage is part of what drives him and should drive all coaches, especially those with a lack of elite talent. I really enjoy coaches who do well at smaller schools because you can agree they don't have the talent that other schools have, but Davidson has a great coach in Coach McKillop. I have purchased two McKillop dvd's and I have enjoyed both of them. The other was offense with a purpose. They repeat a couple of things, but nonetheless I enjoyed both! 1 of 1 people found this review helpful. Was this review helpful?
