Step onto the court with coaching legend Bob Knight as he takes you through everything you need to know about motion offense. In this two-disc set, Coach Knight covers fundamental spacing, screening angles, reading screens, re-screening and more. He also includes two full games so you can see the offense in action. With an emphasis on converting your team from defense to offense, Knight demonstrates his unique philosophy of conversion basketball. Knight teaches you a variety of screens, including the down screen, the back screen, the flare screen, the cross screen and the T screen. He also includes various options the cutter and screener have after the screen. In a shooting and passing segment, Knight shows you how to prepare your players mentally and physically to handle game stress and fatigue. Knight not only shows you how to beat a man-to-man defense; he discusses strategies for beating the zone as well. He demonstrates the importance of dribbling versus the zone with an emphasis on penetrating the gaps and creating overload situations. With in-depth demonstration and teaching, you will learn how to create an offense you can run versus man, zone or pressure defenses. This free-flowing style of play uses the same techniques (spacing, reading, ball fakes, penetration) to put pressure on any defense. Create an offense that is impossible to scout and stop using Bob Knight's unique, proven teaching methods.

Main feature: 127 minutes. Bonus material: 114 minutes (2 videos). 2009.

This is a remarkably detailed and insightful lesson on motion offense. It reminded me of a college course but on a subject that I am extremely interested in learning. I have since done more research on motion offense and Knight's impact on motion is so deep (I was not aware of this until I purchased this video or I would have bought long ago). I now understand why this video is so information rich. Have watched it 3x and have new wrinkles I am seeing each new time I watch. Outstanding!

Like his DVD's in defense this DVD set is just an introduction to the way he taught motion offense. If you wanna have the full picture then you should combine it with the Advanced Guide to motion offense DVD.

I know Coach Knight is probably the foremost authority on motion offense. It is evident that his knowledge of the subject matter is second to none, but the production of this particular presentation leaves something to be desired. It is not a clinic demonstration so it would have gone smoother if he had worked with his athletes a little before going on tape. They are often not on the same page. He also tends to jump around and gets off track in his explanations. It still is good, but could have been done better. My biggest complaint is that charging an extra 30 dollars for a tape (with no sound) that only contains game footage of 2 Texas Tech games is a waste of money. It would have been very beneficial if the game footage could have been edited to include his commentary and possibly using graphics to show and explain his point - I know the technology is out there to do that.

Good information, but more basic than expected. Would have liked to have seen some good drills included, more development of an offense.

Good video for anyone seeking to understand Motion Offense. Coach does a great job of explaining and adding his own style of basketball wisdom.
