Coach Braun is a believer in motion offense with constant player and ball movement with proper spacing. This offensive philosophy puts a premium on good passes, especially to the open shooter. The ball must be delivered exactly to the right spot to give the shooter his best chance to make the shot. To develop this skill Braun demonstrates the 3-man, 2-ball passing/shooting drill. Other concepts that Braun presents are getting open on the wing, lobbing the ball over the top to counter the defender's position, the inside and reverse pivot, and the back cut and post up just off the mid-post area. From a two-guard front, Braun teaches the shallow cut and "X" move to get open and create good spacing. The high post player can be used effectively to get open also. By progressively adding players on the court, Braun creates an opportunity for players to "just play" by using the techniques he has already presented. In essence, just by employing these skills, any group of players could run an offense and be effective.
