All Access Practice with Pat Summitt

I agree with the other reviewers, I love the All Access videos and have quite a few of them. This takes place during the last years of Pat Summitt's coaching career, before Holly Warlick took over the Lady Vols.

Practice session 1 could really be skipped, as it consists of warm-up drills, some shooting and 3v3 and 5v5 defense.

Practice session 2 we finally get into what feels like a real practice, with shooting and defense drills, closeouts and feeding the post. Most of what you hear from Coach Summitt is when she is speaking to a group in the stands.

This isn't the best All Access I've ever seen. You really don't hear a lot from Coach Summitt, and it seems the players know the practice progression without a lot of direction (or that element has been cut). The practice sessions are only 30 minutes long on the first DVD leading me to believe quite a bit was cut out for whatever reason. There are four practice sessions in a 155 minute video, so these can't be normal full practices. On the second DVD it is mostly scrimmage, and you will hear very little from Coach Summitt.

There is a Q&A at the end of disc 1 where it becomes obvious that a group of local coaches was invited, and at least to some extent the practice was oriented for that group rather than being a true Lady Vols practice.

There is still value here, but not quite at the same level you would normally expect from a quality All Access video set. 3/5 stars

I would agree with the other post. Love the all access tapes. I've also seen Auriemma and Coach K's. This one doesn't more things with Defense than the other two but great information in all of the tapes. They show you how to combine drills and work on more that one thing at once

I really believe that these "all-access" DVD's are the best thing that Championship Productions has done in years - I've seen Coach Auriemma's and Coach Self's "all-access" DVD's and I thought they were better because they were true practices as opposed to practices done for a coaching clinic, but I still thought this was a good presentation with a lot of good drills and coaching points presented - would highly recommend any of the all-access DVD's.
