With over 13 hours of practice, Coach Auriemma and his staff share more than 30 drills and variations to improve passing, ball handling, shooting, transition, and skill development. OffenseCoach Auriemma runs half- and full-court offensive drills that teach the key skills required for good team offense: The ability to pass, catch, dribble and shoot. He runs his 2-man passing full court drill, 2-line layup drill, and 3-man weave half court and full court drills. To develop his full court transition offense, Auriemma runs his 3-man transition drill which progresses to 4-on-0 and 5-on-0. These drills replicate a game-like atmosphere and really work on pushing the defense for a lay-up or getting them to back up, which leaves you with a 3-point attempt. These transition drills also focus on team communication and conditioning.Coach Auriemma also breaks down his team's half-court offensive attack. He includes player positioning, spacing, methods of entry, selected plays, and many of the passing and scoring options for the offensive set. He runs breakdown drills that work on proper timing, cutting, screening, reading the defense, spacing, getting open and shooting.DefenseGood defense is based on knowing what your opponent does well and taking it away. Watch Coach Auriemma and his staff teach their players how to defend the baseline drive, close out on the shooter, defend on-ball screens, rebound and communicate. From the tone-setting circle talks before practice starts to the last made free throw, you will see Auriemma's extensive, fast-paced practices from beginning to end. Ratings & Reviews All Access Basketball Practice with Geno Auriemma (2011-2012) on June 2, 2021 Currently 5/5 Stars.5/5 Stars 5 by ShannonPierce552 This is a really good All Access DVD set. You get a lot of skill work, especially with post players. You will also see them work on their triangle offense. What I think is really cool is all the drills they do could easily be done at the high school or jr. high level. I also like how at the end of the practices Coach Auriemma gives his assessment of the practice. Was this review helpful? Yes No All Access Basketball Practice with Geno Auriemma (2011-2012) on July 12, 2017 Currently 2/5 Stars.2/5 Stars 2 by Anonymous A lot of redundant material from disc to disc and very simple drills.Championship Productions replies:Coach, All Access videos are designed to allow viewers from all over the world to see how successful coaches run their practices in a “live” practice setting. Since it's an actual practice, there will be repetition in drills since that's what you would really do with your players. Alternatively, we produce “practice organization” and/or drill-based videos that provide more concise insights and illustrations into the hows and whys, and are designed specifically with the viewer's experience in mind. But, many coaches visit successful colleges and high schools to watch practice, with All Access videos, we deliver those practices to you! -- Customer Service Team, Championship Productions 2 of 2 people found this review helpful. Was this review helpful? Yes No All Access Basketball Practice with Geno Auriemma (2011-2012) on March 6, 2013 Currently 5/5 Stars.5/5 Stars 5 by Anonymous I have the earlier All Access with Auriemma, and this purchase was well worth it. Yes, several of the drills are similar (e.g. conditioning drills) which you'd expect, but the content is complementary to the original. In the original All Access, they were working on installing their secondary break (Drag series) and their typical aggresive man D. In this one, they're working on the fundamentals and introduction to the Triangle offense and rollout of more of a sagging, pack-line defense. The way they structure their practices and build the offense flows well through the five practices, and there is a lot to be taken from these videos. Auriemma and his staff do a great job of rolling out the offense getting new players up to speed quickly, and his direction and methods are pretty entertaining. Really like the fluidity of the 4-Man drills in allowing the players to learn the offense though some experimentation and constant feedback from the staff. Probably the best I've watched on teaching the principles of the Triangle offense to the players. 12 of 12 people found this review helpful. Was this review helpful? Yes No All Access Basketball Practice with Geno Auriemma (2011-2012) on November 22, 2012 Currently 5/5 Stars.5/5 Stars 5 by Anonymous Very solid...tons of little ideas that experienced coaches will appreciate and a great chance for young coaches to see the way UConn does business. I love the blend of old school fundamentals with a 21st century approach to a women's basketball practice. 9 of 10 people found this review helpful. Was this review helpful? Yes No All Access Basketball Practice with Geno Auriemma (2011-2012) on November 1, 2012 Currently 4/5 Stars.4/5 Stars 4 by Anonymous There is alot of the same things on this set as his first all access set. I agree that having the assistants mic'd up was a great idea. You can see just how much Chris Dailey contributes. She does a really good job with their post players. I give this a 4 just because there is so much of the same stuff. However, I will say it isn't what they do that makes them good, its how they do it! And you can see how they demand max effort from every player on this dvd set. $150 is probably too much for these new dvds. 11 of 12 people found this review helpful. Was this review helpful? Yes No All Access Basketball Practice with Geno Auriemma (2011-2012) on October 24, 2012 Currently 4/5 Stars.4/5 Stars 4 by Jstnblke41 If you don't have the original set then this is a no brainer. First off you get two more practices (albeit at a higher price), you get a better idea of how they go about installing their half court offense, you get a more full picture of their defensive philosophies and system along with most of the transition stuff that dominated the first set. Championship also took some advice from buyers and mic'ed up the assistants for this one, they do a lot of teaching and to have their voices in on this makes the package a lot better. They also included practice summaries and other tidbits of knowledge from coach Auriemma, pretty cool to hear assessments and some more philosophy you might not get at practice. The reason this doesn't get a perfect score from me is its a ton of the same stuff from the original; my own fault for assuming they have changed things up more then they have in the last 3 or 4 years, but still a little disappointing. 14 of 15 people found this review helpful. Was this review helpful?
