Features & Benefits Combine the strengths of the Dribble Drive and the Read and React into one potent offense! Tailor your offense to your team's strengths and abilities without the use of set plays Allow your entire team to function cohesively rather than one player trying to breakdown their man 1-on-1 Create an offense that is a simple or as complex as your team requires with Andrew Grantz, Creator of the Attack & React Offense, Indiana University Southeast Assistant Coach; former Pittsburg State Graduate Assistant Coach Andrew Grantz has taken elements of two very popular offenses, the Read and React and the Dribble Drive Motion, and made them into his own system - The Attack and React Offense. This offense will allow you to teach players how to play basketball and not just how to run set plays. There are so many different options and phases that you can pick and choose what you need to exploit your team's strengths and hide your team's weaknesses. In this DVD, Coach Grantz introduces 16 different phases of the offense, starting with the most basic, and shows how you how you can successfully use as many or as few as you need. Using whiteboard diagrams and on-the-court demonstrations, each phase is broken down into a specific reaction that builds on another phase.Stressing the importance of spacing the floor, Grantz utilizes six perimeter spots and a post player to lay the foundation for the offense. The three initial phases include: Phase 1: The Dribble Drive Phase - This phase starts with the very basics of the offense and attacking the basket, as well as how the rest of the players react to the ball movements. Grantz explains the action above and below the drive line, the importance of NBA 3-point line spacing, the pitchout, the lift and other actions. Phase 2: The Pass and Cut Offense - This motion is dominated by the give-and-go principle and the ability to cut to score. This action provides for double gaps which can lead into the flow of the dribble drive. Phase 3: Post Entry - This is final piece of the basic set up of the offense. This includes not only the post-up but the inclusion of the high and low "Laker" cuts and the appropriate spot-filling for passes out of double teams in the post. The rest of the phases consists of the add-ons to the offense. This includes the rules for baseline driving, the dribble-through, ball screens, various screening actions, and various counters and options off of other plays. As a bonus, Coach Gantz gives a lesson on how to get the ball up court in transition and in out-of-bounds situations and into the flow of the Attack and React Offense. This fast break makes it very easy to convert to the half-court offense if you don't score off the initial break. When you feel comfortable adding a new phase to your offense, you can do so very easily. Pick and choose out of the 16 phases to make options that best fit your team, no matter what level you coach. The best part of this offense is how complex or simple you want to make it. The Attack and React is a player-friendly offense that can break down the defense and lead to a lot of easy buckets. This is a complete offensive system. Whatever your preferred method of offense - screening for shooters, back cuts and back screens, no screens, ball screens, etc. - this offense is adaptable to your style and to your team's strengths. You can put this offense in at the junior high, high school, or college level. Use this offense with a group of developing players over the course of several years or with a group of advanced players to create a fun, unstoppable offense! 176 minutes (2 DVDs). 2012.A great offense for any level! My players can learn how to play the game. You have done something special for basketball. Ratings & Reviews 4-Out 1-In Attack and React Motion Offense on July 20, 2025 Currently 5/5 Stars.5/5 Stars 5 by CougarHoops Great video! I got Coach Grantz’s newer video series on this offense a number of years ago, but after watching this video, I like the basic cutting actions in this original version MUCH better! This version of the offense does a much better job of opening up double gaps to drive than the later version, in my opinion. The real advantage of the updated version is that it includes drills for the basic phases/layers. I will be using the original version presented in this DVD as my basis for the offense, and the updated version as a supplement. Was this review helpful? Yes No 4-Out 1-In Attack and React Motion Offense on September 21, 2023 Currently 5/5 Stars.5/5 Stars 5 by RashadC I spent a lot of money trying to find the right offensive system for my youth team. I have a mixture of intermediate skilled players and novice players. Previously the Motion Offense (Bobby Knight) style gave too much freedom to my youth and we needed more structure. So then I did a basic 5 out pass and cut read and react, but it lacked the dribble drive that I was seeking. So when I finally purchased this, it was the exact type of offense that I'm needing. Phase I and Phase II (dribble drive & pass & cut) are structured in a way that is easy to teach and withing a few practices, they are able to understand the spacing. I also needed an offense that will include skill development and this is prefect for it. I went through a lot of purchases to finally end up with the one I'm needing. 4 of 4 people found this review helpful. Was this review helpful? Yes No 4-Out 1-In Attack and React Motion Offense on January 5, 2019 Currently 5/5 Stars.5/5 Stars 5 by WWVAGVBB Since it is advertised as just a mix of DDM and R&R I was expecting it to be good but not necessarily anything I haven't heard before. It way over exceeded my expectations, especially getting into the later phases. Well worth the money. Also, it comes with a PDF which I really like. 4 of 4 people found this review helpful. Was this review helpful? Yes No 4-Out 1-In Attack and React Motion Offense on October 13, 2013 Currently 5/5 Stars.5/5 Stars 5 by Anonymous Great video quality. Coach Grantz outlines the concepts on a whiteboard before demonstrating them on the floor. All very well explained in 2 DVDs. It's meant to be a combination of dribble drive and R&R but it leans more to dribble/drive. It's presented as a 4 out 1 in offence only. Comes with a detailed PDF providing details of all 16 phases (layers). If you're new to DDM or read and react these DVD's teach a comprehensive system which can be implemented with younger players and grow with them. It's similar to dribble drive and R&R but I agree with other reviewers that it's not better or sufficiently different to justify the cost if you already understand those offences. Gets 5 stars as it's well done, good value considering all you get and it's available for immediate digital download. 7 of 7 people found this review helpful. Was this review helpful? Just an average manipulation of very good offenses. I am sticking with the Dribble Drive. Thanks Vance Wahlberg. 7 of 8 people found this review helpful. Was this review helpful? It works in the Dribble Drive and the Read and React. It helps teach players how to play the game of basketball instead of creating by the book players. I would recommned this video to all coaxches. 3 of 4 people found this review helpful. Was this review helpful? The best part is that you also get a PDF file of the offense and Grantz is very open to answering your questions about the offense. 7 of 7 people found this review helpful. Was this review helpful? Yes No 4-Out 1-In Attack and React Motion Offense on December 9, 2012 Currently 5/5 Stars.5/5 Stars 5 by coachmav This is a great video. I love the way coach fuses the DDM with Read and React. My team has run DDM for four years and I was looking to add more movement and screening actions and this offense was the ticket. Very well made video. Good white board depictions and then coach goes on the court with the players. The video also comes with a PDF you can use to print everything out. That was very helpful. If I was nitpicking, I wish there would have been some good breakdown drills of each phase. I would also like to have seen more 5-on-5 action. All in all worth a look. 8 of 8 people found this review helpful. Was this review helpful?
