with Jay Martel,
San Diego State University Assistant Coach
This is a "must-have" video for all coaches and players that are looking to improve hitting! Coach Martel has numerous years of experience at the local and regional level in San Diego, coaching players of all ages and abilities and was also a successful prep player and played professionally with the St. Louis Cardinals organization. In this video, Martel does an excellent job of explaining and demonstrating different effective hitting drills including different Tee Drills and Toss Drills. All of the drills help teach and reinforce proper body positioning, bat control, head positioning, and hand positioning. Teaching these techniques and using repetitions allows players to use the entire field, which will increase their batting averages. All of the drills are ideal for team practices and many of the drills are well-suited for players to use to perfect their hitting skills on their own!

with Jim Dietz,
former San Diego State University Head Coach,
ABCA Hall of Fame 2002
Coach Dietz won over 1200 games in his 31 years of coaching and was known for tremendous statistics in the win/loss column, in his athlete's excellent academics, and for creating numerous opportunities for his players. He was the college coach to many future "big league" hitting sensations, including Tony Gwynn, Mark Grace and Travis Lee. In this excellent video, Dietz shares his wisdom and experience in order to help you get the most out of what a hitter has and, using what they already have, mold them into a more constant hitter (versus changing everything that the hitter already does). In this on-field demonstration video, Dietz shows how to recognize the inside pitch, the outside pitch, a fastball, and a change up and how to use this to create a constant swing. Having a constant swing will allow your hitter to use all fields and go with pitches. Also emphasized: teaching players to hit with their hands and proper stride length. This is a great hitting video!
